Join MPP Kirstyn Wong-Tam and the Ontario Swahili-speaking community for a press conference celebrating the tabling of the Swahili Heritage Month Act.
Please arrive promptly at 9 AM to prepare for our press conference at 9:30 AM. Press conferences must start on time!
Room: Media Studio, room 149 (first floor, west side), Main Legislature Building
A staff member will direct you to the room upon your arrival, after you complete the security check.

A note on media participation in the Queen's Park Media Studio:
Only accredited members of the media (with media credentials issued by the Queen's Park Press Gallery) are allowed to ask questions, film video, or interact with the speakers while the press conference is happening. Any members of the media who are not accredited must be treated as non-media guests while the press conference is live.
After the press conference, any non-accredited journalists who wish to do additional interviews with speakers can come to MPP Wong-Tam's office to do so. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to Emma (416-209-7072).
If your media outlet is affiliated with a larger outlet (Omni, Global, CP24, CBC, etc). It is possible that you could apply for a one-day media pass. Please reach out directly to your affiliated outlet to inquire about this.
Entering Queen's Park:
- You will enter via the visitor’s entrance, directly left/east of the main doors of Queen’s Park (on the south side).
- Please don’t bring any sharp or dangerous objects, as the screening is akin to airport security. Liquids are allowed, however.

Bring government-issued photo ID
- The name on your ID does not have to match the name you gave us. If you have a preferred name that is different from your legal name that is okay. If you have not legally changed your name and/or gender marker to reflect how you present or the name you use, that is completely okay. Security should not ask any questions.
- When security asks for your name, please share the name that you used on the RSVP form so that they can find you on the list. Please use your preferred name on the RSVP form.

Queen's Park Legislative Assembly (main intersection College Street and University Avenue) is reachable by the TTC via the Line 1 Subway (Queen's Park Station) or the 506 Carlton Street Car.
