We, the undersigned, petition the Legislative Assembly of Ontario to:
- Remove HST from all food and increase grocery competition
- Stop price gouging by grocery chains
- Take action to protect Ontario farmers and workers
To the Legislative Assembly of Ontario:
WHEREAS five big grocery chains like Loblaws control 80% of the grocery market.
WHEREAS, large American food companies are laying off thousands of Canadian workers.
WHEREAS the Ontario NDP wants to crack down on grocery price gouging by establishing a new consumer watchdog to fight corporate greed and keep food prices fair.
